I do that too! My queue is actually quite short (only about 20 projects at the moment) but I have them all grouped into 'needyarn' and 'haveyarn'. This is really helpful when preparing for something like Stitches--the 'needyarn' group is pretty much a shopping list!

I feel seriously dumb just now...how clever to tag with the person's name! I often go through patterns looking for something for a particular person, and then still have to go through all the "hat" or "vest" projects to find the ones I had in mind. I'm looking forward to a little reorganization of the queue!

I have a shopping list tab in my queue containing all the patterns I've tagged with "needsyarn". That way, when a store's having a sale, I can check the sale items against a specific list of patterns I need yarn for.

Removing 60 patterns is impressive enough to me, but adding so many notes is huge!

I just thought of another tag I want to add to projects in my queue. Sometimes I want to start a new project that's perfect for working on while watching t.v. or movies. I could tag projects like that as TV or easy.

I have QU.B.L.E (Queue Beyond Life Expectancy). It goes so nicely with my S.A.B.L.E. It was over 1,000, so I went through all of it and removed about 60 things. (Don't judge, it's a start!) I have always had it well-tagged. This time, when I went through it, I also put in the notes how much yardage I'd need for MY size (whenever possible).

I tag items in my queue with type (shawl, scarf, cardigan, etc.), technique (lace, cable), personal favourite/holiday category (celtic, Xmas, snowflake, reindeer), who for (male, female, baby, girl, boy), and pattern designer. I find the pattern designer tag useful so I can search for all patterns I have queued by a given designer. Number one in my queue right now is that infamous humping reindeer hat. I meant to make it as an Xmas gift for various people but haven't gotten around to it yet. First item I ever queued was Eunny Jang's amazing Autumn Rose Pullover. Still haven't made it -- 11-colour Fairisle, with steeks, yikes! Will this be the year?
