Say Hello to the NEW Yarn.com!!

It’s finally here!  After months and months of work, we are finally able to share the new site with all of you!

Besides being beautiful (well, at least I think so) it is packed with many of the functions you have all been asking for!   Here’s what’s new at yarn.com:

  • Fresh, updated lookImproved navigation
  • Updated shopping cart with all of the functionality you would expect.
  • Real Time Inventory updates
  • Customer Wishlist
  • Email a Friend
  • Customer Product Reviews
  • Create an Account (no more typing your information in with every order!)
  • Order History, Notification and Tracking.
  • Purchase multiple colors of the same yarn all at once – no bouncing back and forth to the shopping cart
  • Valley Yarns Patterns that really download!  No more emails!  They will now be available simply by accessing your account!
  • Improved pattern descriptions that feature sizing, yarn amounts and needle sizes
  • Product Zoom
  • Pattern & Yarn Integration (some are completed others are still in the works)
  • More Advance Search capabilities so you can find exactly what you are looking for.
  • Site is faster overall because of our improved back-end technology

 

What hasn’t changed:

 

  • First and foremost, our site remains safe and secure.
  • Our famous yarn discounts and pricing remain the same! Save 20% on most yarn purchases of $60.00 or more and 25% on most yarn purchases of $120.00 or more!
  • We’ve maintained one of the most comprehensive selections of yarns, books, patterns and supplies for knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, dyers, felters and more!  Our selection will continue to grow and the new site will allow us to offer not only more products, but to make them available to you faster.
  • Our dedication to offering nothing short of an exceptional shopping and service experience has only been reinforced with the launch of this site.

 What’s Next?

 

As we celebrate in the launch of the site, we are already moving ahead with Phase II improvements.  Stay tuned for updated photography, project/kit purchasing, just to name a few!

    Shannon - we made this fix today - all set!

    CraftNinia - you are welcome and thanks back at you! The wishlist should be printable sometime next week to use as a shopping list or to leave about strategically :)

    Kristen - Hmmm - we definitely had a problem yesterday, but made corrections that should have avoided this problem today. If you are willing, please email me at kathy.elkins AT yarn DOT com and give me a bit more info - do you use Internet Explorer? Broadband provider, etc. Nothing super personal - but enough so we can do some troubleshooting. If there's still a problem, we'd love to be able to solve it. Thanks!

    I can't get anywhere on the new site. It takes about 2 minutes to load the main page and then just hangs there when I click on anything.

  • I like the new site but just wanted to let you know (although I'm sure you're already aware) that it was inaccessible at around 6pm EST yesterday and the yarn searches hang when hitting "next" . .. I tried several times and finally gave up. Hope you get the kinks ironed out soon, good luck!

    It's really nice...very sleek, easy to navigate...I love the account set up and wish list features! So handy for Christmas!


    but I have a question about the knitalong from the podcast - I am in the middle of knitting your fabulous tree blanket for my recently widowed mother-in-law and I can't find where to dowload the patterns for the squares anymore. I got the first three, but not the Nicky Epstein one...

  • Being in the middle of an overhaul on my own site, I can really appreciate the amount of work you guys went through.

    The site looks fantastic, so clean and user-friendly (I just got an e-mail from Webs, which led me to the new site - and then I followed the trail here - to the blog, which I never knew existed) - and I read the awesome story of Web's evolution - and you two being owners.

    Fantastic to include your story and a blog, customer reviews - and I even see a podcast!! I'm impressed and I think I'm in love (grin) - who would've thought you could get a story when you bought wool...I will be back, and will holler about this place to as many people as I can!
