della Q Contest

Hi Everyone

If you happen to be a listener of our podcast, Ready, Set, Knit you are already aware of this great new give away we’re launching.  If you don’t listen , well, maybe you should consider it!  Either way, this blog post is the official announcement of our latest fun giveaway.

Starting here in March and continuing for the remainder of 2010, we will be giving away a fabulous della Q needle case (or maybe a tote) every month!  Yes – 10 chances to WIN one of della Q’s FABOO cases (or maybe a tote).  For those of you who have won prizes from us in the past know that we tend to be quite generous.  I would never just send you a needle case, although it in and to itself is quite the prize.  I’ll probably toss in some needles or maybe even some yarn, a cute tape measure – who knows.    What you are guaranteed is a stunning, high quality needlecase (or maybe a tote) from della Q.

To kick things off with a BANG, Della had no interest in holding back.  We are getting things going with  The Que:

Quite possibly the most fabulous needlecase on the planet.  Yes, I am biased.  Yes, I adore Della and her products.  I’m not about to give you all a prize that I wouldn’t want myself!

Before I jump in and tell you how the contest is going to work, a few words about The Que.  The Que was designed for those of us who are circular needle users.  Each pocket is number from size #3-#15 and there is a function flap that ensures the needles stay in place.  Made of gorgeous silks, once folded and tied, The Que is the equivalent of a beautiful package, yet it is completely functional and easily portable.

The Que is available in stripes and solids.  Winner choses their fave.

So what do you have to do?  Between now and March 21st you need to comment here on this blog, on this post.  I want you to tell me your thoughts on della Q products and why you want to win this case.  You need to comment on the della Q blog as well and let Della know what types of products you’d like to see in the future.  A winner who has commmented on both blogs will be selected at random and will be our very first WINNER!

    These are super cute cases! One of these would make me so much more organized than what I currently am, and I think the stylish colors and modern design really help bring needlework into the current century - maybe people won't look at me so funny when I tell them that, at 30, I really knit!

    Oh! A circular needle case! And it's even.... really, really pretty! I want to win because I almost always knit with circular needles - but they tend to get disorganized. Maddeningly, my favorite circular needles are not marked with a size (can anyone guess?) and unless I have my need gauge with me, and my make-do circular needle pouch, which looks like a mess of cables.... I'm out of luck. This case looks like it would solve my problems - and it's pretty!

    Oh wow - Della Q's gorgeous silk needles cases are the bomb (see - I can even seem younger in a blog) -- and March 25 is my birthday - and I'll be <gasp> 50 (born March 25, 1960) - so I need a beautiful pink pick-me-up!

  • My needles (and there are plenty of them) don't have anything as beautiful as the Que to live in. For as much work as they do, they should have a lovely home, don't you agree?
  • Stunning, as all her products are! I think my favorite thing about her bags are the sumptuous colors she chooses. Then again, her designs are impeccable, too; practical AND fun!

    I commented on the Della Q blog and when I saw the circular case, I thought Wow, what a cool case that has tags for all the needles it holds. If I won the case, then I would have to buy more circulars to fill it up and then I would have to buy the straight needle case to match. Sounds good to me.

    I really like these needle cases. I am an itinerant knitting teacher and need to have a big supply of needles with me all the time. These cases are the only circular cases that work for me. Why would I like to win another? Mine is too full and is bursting open. It is an early one, before the sizing tabs were changed. (Mine has space for size #12's!)

    I have been so anxious to try della Q products! They are beautiful and I think just looking at them would make me happy! I would LOVE to win this case because I will need a good project like organizing my needles while I nurse my 134LB 9 month old Saint Bernard back to health after elbow surgery. He will be on restricted activity for 6 weeks (oh my) and if I play my cards right, I could train him to retrieve my circulars carefully so that I could put them away in my beautiful new case!     I have 2 della Q bags, and I think they are lovely. They are beautifully constructed and the materials are truly sumptuous. I also can't believe how affordable they are; they look much more expensive. I don't currently own any needle cases from her lines, and I would love to have one.

    I would love to win this contest! Currently I am using plastic bags and old tupperware to hold my needles. Lately, knitting has given me the opportunity to relieve my stress. No matter how bad the day has been, the act of knitting seems to bring an inner peace. I've told other people that knitting is meditation for the mind, with the great side effect of a completed item to wear, or even give away (another source of meditation!) after you are done!! Those who knit, agree...those who don't, just wonder what you're talking about! Of course, they are the grateful recipients of your knitted gifts! Win-Win for everyone!!

    I desperately need one of those cases because my needles are everywhere and a total MESS! I can never find the one I need and so I just go buy another and then I find the one I needed. A case like that would be so much better!

    I love her cases. I have the sock needle case for dpns and circulars in the color for breast cancer awareness.(with part of the proceeds going towards breast cancer research) I would love anither case.

  • Well, good golly, who wouldn't want to win a Della Q bag? Winning things makes me feel special...and loved (hint, hint). Plus, I love putting my needles in beauty-full cases. I mean, heck, I spend good money on my needles, they need lovin' too. I'm sure my needles would also be delighted to be nestled in their own Della Q bag. I know, I would!

    This is lovely! I have a set of interchangeable circs (well, 2 to be honest!), but I find I'm picking up more and more fixed circs. Those float around my storage bag (if I'm lucky) or around the house (if I'm not). this is genius!

    i recently took inventory of my needles and found that by far, circulars must be my favorite. they live together in a phot storage box, arranged by size. when i travel i can grab the storage box and toss it in the car to go. not really the most efficient way to transport, so i'm looking forward to learning more about the della Q product line. thanks for the fun give-away!

    I have to be honest and say that I have only seen Della products on line. I do not know of any stores in my area that carries them. Of course I could always drive out to WEBS and see them in person as I am right outside of Cambridge.     My kitten leaves my yarn alone... however, she loves to chew on my bamboo needles. i got an entire circular set and they have been literally wittled down... and between her and my daughters, good lord I need a nice case that can hold them, so i can invest in (another) full set :)

    I would love to win this, the current system i use where the needles themselves hang out the sides (so you can be organized and SEE the needle sizes) are not working because of the kitten (she has a great ability to use her paws to even pull the needles out of the current case)

    I would love to win the Della's cases as they will force me to be organized with my knitting needles. My needles are currently in a mess everywhere on my floor and scattered all over the room and my knitting basket. I just have never found a case that can incorporate both my interchangeable tips and circulars into one place that is easy to find.

    I also am an international traveler and change jobs about every two years to a different country. This will allow me to carry around my needles easily and without any bulky cases. Plus whenever I'm using it and people ask me about my wonderful needle case, I will be able to point them to Webs and all the terrific knitting accessories they have!

    Oh man oh man do I ever need the Que, I spend several hours looking for a size 3 US needle just last night. All my circs are stored in a huge tangle in a hatbox making finding the right size a project in itself!

    I just looked at Della Q's blog (and left a post). I love her needles cases. They would help me be so much more organized instead of having to dig through the canister of straight needles, and the pencil boxes that hold my circulars and dpns. Great idea. I also love how she has labeled all the sizes.

    I want to win this case because I am a circular needle addict. Besides my two interchangeable sets, I have a ton of addi turbos and would love to be able to find them faster. My current organization method is just throwing them all in the same bag and having to sift through each one when I am looking for a particular size.

    I've drolled over the Della Q needle cases for several years. They have been on my Christmas and birthday wish lists for the past two years. I both knit and crochet so I have an entire drawer and several baskets full of various types and lots of sizes of needles. Organizing them would be a major boon. A Della Q needle case would help a lot to get that done.

    I would absolutely love to win The Que. My circulars are all in a zip loc bag and whenever I need one I get out the needle sizer and start poking them into holes and measuring the length. Not a great system I'll admit. And The Que is gorgeous to boot.

  • I love Della Q cases. I have an earlier version of the Que, as well as a Que-I for my interchangeable needles. I love how lightweight they are.

    I love the Que shown above compared to the one I have (and why I want to win it to replace mine) is because I see that in the photo, there's a flap over the pockets. Whenever I open the cases I have, my cords often slip out of the open ends.

I own one of the cases for interchangeable needles (with my Addi set inside), and have a number of the little project bags in various fabrics. I have gifted my daughter with a needle case, and some project bags, too.
