We are once again partnering with the Cancer Connection for our annual Knit and Crochet for the Cure to help bring attention and support during Breast Cancer Awareness month. The event will be taking place on Sunday, October 2 from 1-4pm.

A couple of snapshots from Knit for the Cure 2010!  We had lots of fun!

This is an event that we feel honored to be a part of. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful community of knitters and crocheters to join together in this cause. The staff here has a great time getting to know our customers, and customers getting to know each other. In the past we have made afghan squares, chemo caps and scarves and in speaking with the Cancer Connection, the items we create and donate to this group all end up with a story attached to them. The kindness you all show by helping this cause means such a great deal to every individual that is a recipient of a cap, or a scarf.

I have included some links to the projects that we are going to be doing this year. If you have some stash to use up, what a great way to do so. If you would like to join us for the event, we will have yarn available for these projects. Please be sure to register for this event by contacting customer service or stopping by the store. Or if you do not live near WEBS, why not create one of these and give it to your local Hospice shop or other non-profit affiliates that would cherish the donation you make.

Here are just a couple of the projects we will have going this year:

We hope you will be able to join us,  we always have a good time, have  delicious snacks, and good conversation.  And you know how we like to raffle off some great door prizes!

C2Knits Trunk Show!

All through the summer we have been hosting some lovely trunk shows here at the store!  And our latest one is from the pattern company C2Knits.  I was very excited to get this pattern line when our representative showed them to me.  What caught my eye was a couple of things.  One being that the pattern names are named after dogs, she had me at named after dogs!  Which they so kindly put a picture of the dog on the back of the pattern.  The other being that they take the time to list many different yarn options for those of us that may be unsure what to use.  And to top all of that, for those that prefer top down knits, these will be right up your alley!

Everytime we get a trunk show in, we have so much fun opening up the box and seeing what goodies await us inside.  And we of course are more than happy to try a few on!

So here are a couple we chose to share with you!  First up is the pattern “Greta” and we just had to have sales associate “Greta” be the one to model it for us.  The pleating around the neck and around the buttons that are on the sleeves are quite a nice touch as well as the bottom half waist!

Next up we have Heidi, and Grace both modeling “Bella Hoodie” .  This sweater is so cozy!  I love the zipper for a closure.

And here is Lindsey our photographer, it took some persuading to get her on the other side of the lens!  Thanks Lindsey for indulging us!  This fun little top is “Gidget

And with it being Friday, who better to model  “Sedona“, than our Friday gal, Dori!  This vest looks great on her!

So, if you are in our area over the next week, why not stop by to see what else we have in this trunk show!  We will have it in the store through August 6th.  These patterns are available in the store and as a pdf purchase on our website!  Enjoy!

One of the fun things about working in the store is the wonderful finished things that come in our door for show and tell! It is so great when our customers come back to show us what they did. Because on our end we are always wondering what someone will ultimately end up creating with their purchases. And, over the past week we have been thrilled to see some amazing projects that you can check out below!

We just love it when we see Sue heading our way.  It usually means she has created another one of her incredible needle felted masterpieces.  Sue has only been needle felting for 4 months!  Incredible!  And she free forms it!  There is no skeletal model inside these, pure needle felting!  How does she do it?  All we can say here is Amazing!  Thanks for sharing Sue!  And check out these adorable needle felting kits we have.  I have done a couple of these myself, and had a great time watching them take shape.
