Blood Drive & Food Drive at WEBS!

This Thursday, May 28th, we will be holding a Blood Drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross.  The Bloodmobile will be in our parking lot from 1-6pm this Thursday.  As you may (or may not) know, summer is the time of year when blood supplies are at their lowest and the need is tremendous.

We will also be collecting food for the Northampton Survival Center.  Based right here in Northampton, the survival center offers a variety of services to help local families in 16 communities in our local area.  One program that is particularly near and dear to my heart is the Kids’ Summer Program.  This particular program helps to provide food to families who have children that qualify for free breakfasts and lunches in the local public schools.  During the summer months, the kids aren’t in school but still need a healthy breakfast and lunch.  The Survival Center works hard to ensure this happens.  Our food drive is not focused specifically on this program as the needs within our community have grown dramatically.

If you can come down on Thursday and donate blood, we would be eternally grateful.  If you can’t, for whatever reason, please drop off some non-perishable foods for the food bank.  We will also accept monetary donations on their behalf.

Pizzeria Uno is also involved.  For every pint of blood donated during the month of May, each donor will be presented with a Scratch & Win with Uno ticket.  Every donor is a winner.  Prizes include $5, $10, $15 or a Free Individual PIzza A Month for a Year!

Of course, we had to jump in too!  If you donate blood, you will be entered into our grand raffle.  If you bring food, you will also be entered in the raffle.  Do both – you get THREE entries.  What’s in the raffle?  Well, first prize will be a $150 gift certificate.  We’ll have a few other prizes including some of our new Valley Yarn patterns and the yarn to complete the project, books, etc.  I don’t know how many prizes we’ll give away – the more of you that show up – the more prizes we giveaway.  See how that works?

More Blood + More Food = More Prizes.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!

I am really hoping for a great turnout for this event!  Look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday!
