This week we feature another free pattern that uses yarns from our Anniversary Sale. The Bessie Positive/Negative Stole has an ethereal beauty reminiscent of shooting stars and the night sky. The wispy S. Charles Collezione Luna creates a delicate halo, while S. Charles Collezione Stella creates the clearly defined, contrasting lines.

Luna is a light, airy blend of super kid mohair, silk, and lurex. It has a wonderful halo and just a touch of sparkle that makes it perfect for special occasions.

Stella blends silk and lurex for a sophisticated yarn with sparkle that won’t be overbearing. The two yarns pair beautifully in this project.

There’s no better time to grab the yarn for this project than now, when it’s on sale. I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe there’s only one week left until May. It seems like just yesterday we were discussing what yarns were going to go in the Anniversary Sale, and now it’s almost over. That reminds me, I’d better figure out what I want to stock up on!

This week’s free pattern is absolutely adorable! We’re featuring the Bunny Nuggets from Danger Crafts.

I love all of the Danger Craft patterns and these are no exception! Not only are they ridiculously cute, they’re also super fast and a great way to use up scraps of yarn.

You can use any gauge yarn you have. Choose sock yarn and you’ll have a tiny bunny friend, bulky yarn and you’ll have a bigger pal. I love the safety eyes and safety noses, but if you’re thinking about giving one of these cuties to a young child, you’ll want to embroider or needlefelt the face.

With Easter just a couple of days away, I’m thinking of whipping up a few of these to give to my favorite kids (and maybe some grown-ups too!).

This week’s free pattern is from ChickenBetty (aka Sara, our crochet-guru!). The Longmeadow Cuff is a great way to practice your broomstick lace.

The cuffs are worked in Valley Yarns Longmeadow, which is a wonderful blend of cotton and microfiber. It’s a great yarn for spring and summer!

Have you ever tried broomstick lace? I created a shawl using the technique several years ago and it was pretty fun. At first, it was a little nerve-wracking sliding those loops off of the big needle, but after a while, I got used to it and it was tons of fun!

Do you think you’ll give this technique a try?

We have had some crazy weather here in the Northeast lately. It has felt more like late spring/early summer than the end of winter! This weekend, they’re predicting temps around 70 degrees. I know some places have experienced record snowfall this winter, and after all the snow we had last year, I feel for you.

All of the warm weather has me thinking of lighter weight projects and about exploring all of the spring yarns that have arrived over the last couple months.

This week’s free pattern is from Berroco. Kabak is a sleeveless knit shirt with a dropped stitch detail down the front. It is knit in Berroco Versa.

Berroco Versa is machine washable cotton/acrylic blend that’s full of color. It is a twin ribbon yarn that has fantastic drape and is wonderfully soft.
