Free Pattern Thursday

Hi Everyone,

Today we’re featuring two patterns, plus a bonus! Hanukkah has started, and Christmas is just around the corner, so we we wanted to feature a couple of quick cowls. You can whip one of these up in a few hours, so they’re great for last minute giving.

First we have the Kerr Hat and Cowl set, which uses Berroco Borealis.

This quick knit is made even more lovely by the beautiful colors of Borealis. It is also super soft, which makes it a cozy accessory for yourself, or someone on your list.

The second cowl is from Tahki Yarns. The Bridgehampton Cowl is knit in Tahki Coast.

Coast is a lovely, heathered wool/cotton blend. It is available in a nice palette of colors. Tahki’s Tweed Collection 4th Edition (Fall/Winter 2010) has the matching Bridgehampton Sweater.

I’ve been kind of cowl-crazy lately! Over the Thanksgiving weekend I crocheted two cowls. One was for my mom’s birthday out of Jade Sapphire Silk Cashmere (color 44). I used a free pattern that I found on crochetme.com. It’s called Baby It’s Cowled Outside! I really enjoyed crocheting it, and want to make another (I’m thinking the new Valley Yarns Charlemont in Burgundy would be perfect!) Here’s a quick picture I snapped before I brought the gift over.

Happy Knitting and Crocheting Everyone!
