Free Pattern – Velvet Curtain Gauntlets

Hi Everyone,

I’m Mary (I work in marketing here at WEBS) and I’ll be guest blogging for Kathy today to share with you our Free Pattern for the week.

We’ve got a great freebie for you! Valley Yarns 218 Velvet Curtain Gauntlets. This project is quick and easy and makes a perfect last minute gift. It is also a great introduction to working with cables. You essentially knit a swatch and finish it by sewing up the side, leaving a hole for the thumb.

One of the best things about this project is that you can use two very different yarns and get two different looks!

The version with Stockbridge, our 50% wool/50% alpaca blend creates cozy hand warmers perfect for keeping toasty but leaving your fingers free. We have nineteen colors of Stockbridge in stock, so you’re sure to find a color that suits you. Even better, the pair only takes one skein! That’s a quick, easy, last minute gift for just $3.99.

The second version of the Velvet Curtain Gauntlets uses our 2/10 Merino Tencel for a lacy look. This pair keeps your hands warm, but in a much more delicate way. Since each cone has 1,540 yards, you can get many pairs from a single cone! You’ll want to be sure to soak your finished gauntlets once they’re done because 2/10 Merino Tencel fills out quite a bit after a good soak.

We hope you enjoy the pattern!

Mary

I’ve got some bamboo silk thats just calling out to me now! And I’m pretty sure there’s a skein of Stockbridge somewhere in my stash…
