Holidaze
Hi Everyone
I hope that all of you had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday! Steve & I took some time away with the boys. This year the weather in Orlando was absolutely spectacular – sunny everyday and temps around 80+. That is my kind of weather.
We did the Disney thing:
We even encounter a bit of that Disney Magic:
I cannot even explain how cool this rainbow over the castle was after a relatively intense sun shower. It turned Big Thunder Mountain into a water ride 🙂
We did the Harry Potter thing & the insane Rip Ride Rocket thing and the Get Soaked Water Ride Thing at Universal:
Steve is sitting top left in the dark green shirt. I think this was ride #2. I personally love being the dryland photographer 🙂
Note: The Forbidden Journey in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one of the most spectacular rides we have ever experienced. The ride itself was awesome but the execution of the details was beyond impressive. We went there first thing in the morning after lining up a good 1/2 hour before the park opened. We made it through in under 45 minutes.
The pool thing:
And of course, the golf thing, which I’ll spare you pictures of. Given that I’ve played very little this past year, I was quite pleased with my game. Jonathan continued to show his magic – he’s blessed with Steve’s natural ability. That kid makes the game look so darn easy!!!
It was a great time and we traveled with another family which was fun. I will say, after two Thanksgivings away – despite the gorgeous weather and ability to golf on Thanksgiving Day, I will be very content to be home next year.
Really, it just comes down to the love our family has for one another and wanting to be in our home:
So here we are – Hanukkah is upon us – I hope for those of you who celebrate you are having a lovely time. I was happy that it didn’t coincide with Christmas this year but a December 1st start date is challenging! The menorah was clean & polished and I had candles so in reality, nothing else matters. Unless of course you are 11 and 9 🙂 Yes – there were gifts, just not wrapped. They didn’t seem to mind.
I’m not even going to comment on holiday projects. Mine are so far out the window, it’s not worth it. All I can say is that I hope all of you are in better shape than I. What I do need to chat with you about is some holiday info as it pertains to WEBS.
First and foremost, we are now open on SUNDAYS from 12-5pm through the Sunday AFTER Christmas. We will be closed on Sunday, January 2nd. For those of you already thinking about the Year-End Sale, it will start in the store on Sunday, 12/26. The on-line portion of the sale all depends on Steve’s whim but if I was a betting yarnie, I’d wager on 2-3 days before Christmas.
If you are ordering/planning to order/hoping to order/not planning to order but deep inside you know you will at the 11th hour, here are the deadlines for UPS GROUND:
West Coast
Wednesday, December 15th at 3:00 pm
Midwest & South
Friday, December 17th at 3:00 pm
East Coast
Tuesday, December 21st at 3:00 pm
Orders placed after regular UPS ground/priority mail deadlines might not arrive prior to the holidays without expedited shipping charges. Now of course, 3-day, 2-day and overnight options are available should it become necessary. REMEMBER – We want you/your loved one/etc to get your/their yarn/gift on time. We will do our absolute best to get all orders where they need to be on time, but once they leave us, we are at the mercy of UPS & the Postal Service.
I know this can be a very stressful time for a myriad of reasons. Hang in there and try to find a way that works for you to keep the stress at a minimum.
How are YOU doing?? Leave a comment – I’d love to hear from you!
Best,
Kathy

Lovely family time of which I am always so thankful to have, too. I have always been of the mind to KISS – and refuse to stress 🙂

I’ve heard that the Harry Potter ride was MIND BLOWING!
As pertaining to holiday gifts, I’m determined this year to have it ALL done…making good progress too! Proud of myself. 🙂

Sounds like a GREAT holiday! Thanks for sharing.
We are a Harry Potter family and look forward to our journey to the HP ride. If HP wasn’t around to fascinate me as a kid, at least my kids have it and have taken us along for the adventure.
Who would you like to be? I’m definately Hermione. 🙂

Being both a Disney and Harry Potter fan, I loved this! Happy Hanukkah.
