New! Knitter’s Pride Karbonz Needles
We recently received the newest needles from Knitter’s Pride and we’re excited to share them with you. Check out the Knitter’s Pride Karbonz in our video.
The needles feature a carbon fiber body and nickel-plated brass tips. Since they are made of carbon fiber, the needles have a high tensile strength, warm feel, and a surface that helps your stitches move smoothly. They are also extremely lightweight.
Because the carbon fiber is so sturdy, Knitter’s Pride offers these needles in the smallest of sizes. We have cricular needles in 16″-40″ n US0-US4, 10″ single point needles in US0-US4, and 6″ and 8″ double point needles. The 6″ are available in US000-US4 and 8″ in US00-US2.5.

Have all the fixed 24″ and cannot wait for more sizes! These really are the best of both worlds – sharp points and soft barrel.

I love these needles. I finally got a circular in size one and 40″. I magic loop and these are fantastic. The cable is flexible and the points are so slick and pointy. I cant wait for the larger sizes!

Why don’t they come in larger sizes? I see it says “Because the carbon fiber is so sturdy, Knitter’s Pride offers these needles in the smallest of sizes” but that doesn’t really make sense. Also, there is a typo up there, “cricular” is not a word.

love these needles. Any plans to offer larger sizes?

I bought these in size 0 and 00 double-points, for sock knitting. The reason it’s great that they are offered in such small sizes is that such thin needles are relatively fragile, even in bamboo, and tend to warp after time, even if they don’t break. I haven’t used these carbon fiber needles for very long but I expect that they will not warp the way my (otherwise beloved) Crystal Palace size 0 dp bamboo needles have. I’m sure they would also be nice in larger sizes because they are slick, smooth and light, but it’s their strength which I found most intriguing.

Does Karbonz straight needles comes in set? I would like to buy them in a set rather than individually.

Do they have the size imprinted on the needle?

Hi Cindy,
Yes! The needle size is on the carbon fiber portion of the needles in white, super easy to see and read.

I’m looking for short tips, size 2.5 to 9 US fix circular knitting needles. Do you carry them.

I absolutely love these needles. The only negative thing is that after multiple uses, the “size” stamp wears off and I have to get out my trusty old needle sizer. Perhaps someone could suggest they imprint the size rather than silk screen it onto the needle.

I’m a non-knitting crocheter partnered with a sock knitter in a swap. She told me what size DPNs she uses, but not the length. She apparently uses both fingering and DK weight yarns, and requested either size 3 or sizes 6-8. Would the 6″ or 8″ DPNs be better suited to sock knitting?

Great question Catherine! Go shorter for socks, choose the 6″.

How is the grab on these needles. I don’t want my stitches off

The WEBS site display states that the dpns are available in 15 colors. I only see the black. I have 3 pair of these for sock knitting and love them, but would like another color for dark yarn. Please let me know how to order in a color other than black. Thank you.

Hi Caryl,
Karbonz are only available in black. Our website lists the different sizes as colors. I will have the web team look into this. In the meantime, you could take a look at Nova Platinas, my favorite needles that we carry, which are silver and very sturdy to knit with, or you could look at Dreamz, which are color-coded. Dreamz might not be the best choice for very fine-gauge knitting, though – they’re made of birchwood and may break if knit too tightly. Please feel free to contact customer service if you have any questions!

I have been through two Karbonz circular needles. They are wonderful to work with but regrettably they do not last. Carbon fiber is not very durable and in fact my needles wore down just behind the metal point. I had to go back to bamboo and wood.

Why don’t you carry Karbonz needles??? They are wonderful to use.
