In the craziness that turned into the Month of May, I never took the opportunity to share a few shots from our Valley Yarns Catalog shoot with you.  The catalog itself should start showing up in your mailboxes late next week (depending on where you live).

We shot in Old Deerfield – a place we’ve used on more than one occasion.  The history and beauty of the area always takes our breath away and we were fortunate enough to be able to shoot most of our shots on the grounds of a private residence.

Here we are working on a shot for a hat.  I’ve learned after many, many years of photoshoots, it’s the simplest of pieces that are the hardest to capture!

Another hat shot – this one took us awhile!

I love this shot.  Although only a small portion is shown, the patio area of this home is spectacular.  You can just imagine lounging on a lazy summer afternoon or entertaining on a warm evening filled with fireflies:

This shot is typical me.  I wanted this tree somehow incorporated.  Everyone kept saying “it’s not in bloom enough to make an impact”.  I was determined to have my way and I think the final shot you’ll see in the catalog proves that I made the right call.

We had a great backdrop, a terrific model and best of all – a beautiful day.  The outdoor shoots are always the most stressful, but also the most rewarding.

All of the new Valley Yarns Patterns are on-line and ready to be added to your queue!  What’s your new fave?

Love the Sojourner, too. It’s pretty and would look good on most women–perfect!
