Ready, Set, Knit #155

Share Button

This week on Ready, Set, Knit, Steve had yet more new yarns to tempt everyone with this week!  I am starting to think he must be buying yarn in his sleep or something.

New Yarn

Vintage from Berroco (9 new colors)
Eco Duo from Cascade

New Closeouts

Venezia Chunky from Cascade
Fiamma from Dive
Pima Tencel from Cascade (disc colors)
Solana Ecolana from Aslan Trends (sorry for the error – couldn’t read Steve’s notes very well!)
Step from Austermann (overstock colors)

Pixie & I announce our next (and last of 2009) KAL!  Join us as Pixie overcomes her lace demons!  We will be knitting The Bison Shawlette from 101 Luxury Yarn One-Skein Wonders (a WEBS favorite book by the way).

The pattern recommends Buffalo Gold Lace-Weight (400 yards).  Pixie opted for a sportweight yarn and needed about 590 yards.  I know many of you are in the thick of holiday knitting and may need to table this particular project until the new year.  It will make a great first “me” knit for 2010!

Lastly, remember that both WEBS Yarn Store and Bead Store are now open Sundays  from 12-5pm until 12/27, along with our regular 10-5:30pm hours and Thursdays until 8pm.  Whether you need to shop, need help or just need to escape, don’t hesitate to come on in!

Enjoy!

Kathy

You might want to make people aware that there is a very extensive errata sheet offered by the publisher of 101 Luxury Yarn One-Skein Wonders for a large number of patterns in the book, including the Bison Shawlette. It can be found at
http://www.storey.com/correct_book.php?isbn=9781603420792. 26 percent of the patterns in the book required correction. That error rate has discouraged me from buying the book and trying the knit-a-long, especially since I was unable to download the corrected charts from the website.
