Shawl Collar Cardi in KnitSimple Winter 2011
Hi Everyone,
We recently received the latest issue of KnitSimple in the store.
The Winter 2011 issue features a pattern knit in our very own Valley Yarns Berkshire! Check out the Deep-V Cardigan.
This cardigan features the ultra-textural double moss stitch. I love the way that both Berkshire and Berkshire Bulky work up into textured stitches. The stitches really pop.
The cardigan is designed in four sizes – 36, 39, 42, and 45″ and takes 6-8 balls of Valley Yarns Berkshire. It is just $4.99 per ball, so you can knit the sweater in the largest size for under $40! Berkshire is a soft, single ply blend of 85% wool and 15% alpaca. It is available in a wide range of colors, including some lovely natural heathers.
The Winter 2011 issue is packed with other great patterns including garments, accessories, and even some adorable stuffed critters. Check it out today!
Happy Knitting,
Mary

I like the moss stitch on the lapels but the shapeless, ribbed 2-button bottom & 3/4 sleeves do not appeal to me at all. I would rework the design as a fitted, cropped jacket.
