Body
Cast On
I used the provisional cast on using a second circular needle (the size 6) instead of waste yarn. This leaves the stitches ready to pick up for the hem.

Hem
Knit 8 rows total, ending with having just finished a wrong side row (this is what they mean when they say “end with a WS row”). If you did another provisional cast on, unzip the stitches and place on needle. Turn work and fold wrong sides together, holding two needles together. The front needle will be the row just worked, with the yarn on the right (not left) end. The back needle will be the stitches from the cast on edge. Knit across the row – for each stitch you will knit through one stitch on the front needle and one stitch on the back needle, knitting the two stitches together as you go. Make sure you change needle sizes!
Add stitch markers
Use different colored markers for seam and darts (green for the side, purple for the darts). This will make it easier for you to keep track of where you are. Here you can see LA’s stitch markers.
Begin body
Slip side seam stitches on right side rows.
Work until piece is 3 3/4 (4, 4, 4, 4 ½, 4 ½)” or your desired measurement from beginning (bottom of hem). If you want to add or decrease length, you’ll want to do it here before you start the decrease rows.
Decrease rows
Make sure you use the appropriate decrease – either k2tog or ssk – at each of the decrease points. This will make sure all stitches slant the same way and create a nice visual line.
Work until piece is 8 ¾ (9, 9, 9, 91/2, 9 ½)” OR your desired measurement.
Increase rows
Increases will be worked at stitch markers using a make one (M1) increase.
Here are some web links that show the M1:

http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/increases (in this one I use the M1L)
Work until piece is 14 ¼ (14 1/2, 14 ½, 14 ½, 15, 15)” or desired measurement
