Valley Yarns Show & Tell: 433 Provence Coat
Tuesday, December 6th, 2011Hi Everyone,
Today we are showing off 433 Provence Coat. The subtle shades of lavender and wheat fields work harmoniously in this soft and lofty coat. Ribbing provides waist shaping and straight sleeves provide gentle flair.
It is knit in Valley Yarns Cold Spring. Cold Spring is a light, lofty yarn that very subtly shifts its color in tonal shades.
We tried on the 36.”

“So soft and light! I could probably raise the ribbing an inch or two so it’s centered on my waistline.”
Grace
Height: 5’0″
Bust: 38″
Waist: 30″
Hips: 38″
“This is a great jacket, and I love the yarn. It’s warm but light, it’s just way too long for me! Even if I made it shorter, I think a taller person would look a lot better in a jacket like this.”
Dena
Height: 5’4¾”
Bust: 35½”
Waist: 29½”
Hips: 40″
“I prefer to wear shorter sweaters. Plus having pockets that hit me at the sides of my hips is not wear I would put them for me.”
Mary
Height: 5’4″
Bust: 39½
Waist: 32″
Hips: 43″
“This was a comfortable jacket, but I might knit it in all one color. I’d also like it to have some sort of closure because I can see it flapping open as I walk and I worry that would bug me.”
Tina
Height: 5’2″
Bust: 40″
Waist: 33½”
Hips: 43″
“I was a bit skeptical of this one at first, but once I got it on, I could picture myself wearing it curled up on the couch with a good book in the middle of winter. It is cozy, and has good deep pockets. I would make this size for myself, it has a bit of positive ease built in, but I might opt for making the sleeves a bit shorter.”
Liz
Height: 5’7 ½”
Bust: 36¾”
Waist: 34¾”
Hips: 38½”
“Though not my style, I think this coat is super cute! I’d lengthen the sleeves, but other than that I think it fits nicely.”
Next week we’ll check out the crocheted Fleur de Sel Cardigan!
