Our Knitters Pride Trendz Interchangeable Circular Deluxe Set has been hard to get a hold of, and for a good reason. This extremely affordable set is a gateway drug for the new knitter into the experience of owning a quality set of needles. The set comes with 8 pairs of 4.5” tips in US sizes 4-11, along with 4 cables in 24”, 32”, 40” and 47” lengths.

The Trendz feature an opaque color coded, lightweight acrylic needle with slightly more grab than the other materials. It features the same smooth join and supple cord you would expect from the Knitters Pride line. The colors help differentiate sizes and contrast nicely with yarn. I can see these strong needles holding up to some serious work hours.

For young knitters this is a great material to practice on, as opposed to a slicker needle, with an ample point that won’t snag yarn or be too dull for inexperienced hands. This would also be ideal for the young knitter because of the whimsical packaging; cheerfully colored needles in a bright zippered storage case to keep all your parts from getting lost.

For the price point there’s nothing standing between you and your own set of interchangeable needles. Still not sure these are the needles for you? Try the Comby Interchangeable Sampler Set to try out various materials and make your own choice! The Comby set lets you play with one each of the Nova, Dreamz and Trendz needles. Although I don’t know if the choice will be easy, all of these needles are unique and lovely to work with!

Have you gotten a chance to check out the Knitter’s Pride line that we recently started carrying? Today, I would like to introduce you to the interchangeable needles. Interchangeable sets are great because you pretty much always have the needle you need and if you’re a circular fan (like I am), one set is a lot more compact than nine sets of fixed circulars.

We currently have four deluxe sets. Dreamz, Nova, Trendz (Spectra acrylic), and Symfonie Rose. Each set comes with the needle tips (8 pairs in the Trendz and 9 in Dreamz, Nova, and Symfonie Rose), 4 cords (Trendz has 1 each 24″, 32″, 40″, 47″ and Dreamz, Nova, and Symfonie Rose come with 1 24″, 2 32″, and 1 40″), 8 end caps, 4 cord keys, 1 cord case, and a vinyl case that holds everything. The Symfonie Rose come in a beautiful leatherette case, which makes it perfect for gifting!

The cords screw onto the needle tips with the cord key. Simply insert the key into the hold on the cord after screwing the needle on and use it as leverage to securely tighten the tip to the cord.

In addition to the Deluxe Sets, we also have Starter sets in Dreamz and Nova and Chunky sets in Dreamz and Nova. Each comes with 3 sets of needle tips, 2 cords (24″ and 32″), 4 end caps, and 2 cord keys in a vinyl case.

If you’re not sure which needle material is best for you, we have the Comby Interchangeable Sampler Set which features a pair of tips from the Nova, Dreamz, and Spectra line. Also included are 2 cords (24″ and 40″) as well as end caps and cords.

Another interchangeable option that is not yet offered in a set, but is available as interchangeable tips is the Cubics line. These cube-shaped tips are ergonomic and comfortable. They are the same Symfonie birch wood as the Symfonie Rose and Dreamz needles.

All of the needle tips (except the Spectra acrylic) are available individually, so if there’s a size you use more often, or a size that doesn’t come with the set that you would like, you can purchase them. Cords can also be purchased individually to fill in lengths as you need them. The Knitter’s Pride cords are super flexible without being limp and you can easily magic loop with them (I’m working on a project right now using the needles and magic loop).

If you like interchangeable needles, but have been disappointed that you aren’t able to get 16″ interchangeable needles, you’ll be happy to know that next month, we’ll be getting shorter tips in the Dreamz and Nova line to go with the 16″ cord to create 16″ circular needles, perfect for hats, sleeves, and more.

Next week, we’ll feature a post about the wonderful crochet hooks that are available, including the Dreamz Interchangeable Tunisian Hook Set, which is quite handy to have to use in conjunction with your Interchangeable Knitting Needle Set. You can use the hook to easily pick up stitches along the edge of your project and simply switch tips to begin knitting!

Hi Everyone

There is not a week that goes by when we don’t receive some new product, be it a new yarn, book or tool.  Last week, we received a very large and very special shipment of new products.  Knitter’s Pride needles, hooks & accessories have finally arrived here at WEBS and we are all super excited!

Knitter’s Pride is a line of needles, hooks & accessories that are produced in India by KnitPro.  Overall, the line is HUGE.  It’s going to take a few blog posts to really do the line justice and to give you all of the info.   Let me share an overview of each of the 5 different needle types:

The Dreamz line is made from Symfonie wood and each needle is color coded by size.

I love this concept – makes it so easy to find the size you want!  The wood is smooth as are the joins.  The cables are soft and flexible as well.  The points are sharp, though I realize the degree of sharpness can be interpreted differently by different knitters.   In working with the needles, I found my yarn moved easily and the needles felt great in my hands.

The Dreamz line is available in interchangeables, fixed circulars, dpns, straights, crochet hooks & tunisian crochet hooks.  The interchangeables can be purchased individually or in sets.  The Deluxe Set contains:

•  9 sets of tips in sizes #4-#11,
• 4 cords (1 each 24″ & 40″ and 2 each 32″),
• 1 set of  of size markers, 8 end caps, 4 cord keys & 1 cord case
• Set is packaged in a clear vinyl case

The Deluxe Set retails for $82.99.  There is also a Starter Set of three different tip sizes that is a great way to give these needles a test run.  The Starter Set retails for $29.99.

The Nova line includes  interchangeables, fixed circs, dpns and 10″ straight needles in nickle plated brass. The Nova line has the same great construction features as the Dreamz line.  The nickle plated brass finish makes for smooth movement of your stitches.  The Nova Deluxe Set contains all of the same parts & pieces at the Dreamz Set and retails for $69.99.  The Nova Starter Set is $26.99.

Both Dreamz & Nova also have a Chunky Set that contains tips in sizes #13-#17.

Knitter’s Pride Cubics are square needles made from Symfonie wood with a rosewood colored finish.  The Cubics are not currently available as a set, but one will be coming shortly.  Cubics come in interchangeables, fixed circs, dpns & straights.  For those of you who love knitting with square needles or have been curious about them, the Cubics are worth a try.

Knitter’s Pride Basix are jumbo needles made of Birchwood.  Available in fixed circs that range in size from #11-#50 in four different cord lengths.  For those of you who like knitting bulkier weight yarns, our #50 fixed circs are the only ones on the market at this size.  Basix are also available in 8″ dpns in sizes #11-#36.  Basix are affordable starting in price at $5.49 for fixed circs and $6.99 for dpns.

Last in terms of type is the Trendz needles.  Available only as an interchangeable set, Trendz are acrylic needle colored by size like the Dreamz interchangeables.  The Deluxe Set features:

•  9 sets of tips in sizes #4-#11,
• 4 cords (1 each 24″, 32″, 40″, 47″ )
• 1 set of  of size markers, 8 end caps, 4 cord keys & 1 cord case
• Set is packaged in a clear vinyl case

The Trendz Deluxe Set retails for $36.99.

There is so much information about these amazing new needles that I want to share with you but I don’t want to overwhelm you either.
