This week, Kathy is chatting with Dotty Widmann, owner of The Net Loft, a gorgeous yarn and creative lifestyle store located in Cordova, Alaska, a rural fishing town. Each Spring, Cordova is inundated with migrating birds. To celebrate the mass migration and their shorebird festival in May, Dotty is inviting knitters from all over the world join the Copper River Delta Birds by Hand project to create knitted birds to send to Cordova, where they’ll be displayed in the community center and museum. Dotty was inspired by Arne and Carlos and their book Field Guide to Knitted BirdsAs an added bonus, for each bird sent, one dollar will be donated to the Shorebird Study and Habitat Preservation Agencies!
