Here’s why you should join us and make a weekend out of it! We’ve designed a calendar just for you. Each store has designed a pattern for their month, and collecting all 12 gives you a year full of fantastic new knitting. You have to visit each store to collect the whole calendar, and kits for each design are available at that month’s store. If you can’t make it to all the shops, no worries you will have a chance to purchase the calendar after the Shop Hop. You will also be entered in the daily gift basket drawing, with each basket including a certificate  from each of the participating shops, wonderful yarns, patterns, kits, needles, and more! On Sunday, each shop will have two drawings, one for the daily basket as well as a chance to win a wooden swift and ball winder set. All customers who entered in the previous raffles during the weekend will be entered for a chance to win the ball winder and swift set. There is also a chance to win the grand prize! When your entire passport is stamped, simply leave the stamped passport at the last store you visit and it will be entered in the grand prize drawing.

Here’s your chance to explore new yarn shops and win some great prizes. You can complete the Shop Hop all in one day, or make it a weekend event.

I-91 Shop Hop begins June 23, and runs through Sunday June 26th. Get your passport now at any participating store for only $5!

The Buzz at WEBS – July 1, 2011

This week the staff is buzzing about…

1. I’m finally admitting I have a fingering-weight yarn obsession. Shibui Staccato is soft and elegant with a faint luster. I love the mix-and-match solid and multi colors, and immediately saw four or five different combos I would love to use. A few skeins have snuck into my stash already (151, 103, and 112) and I’m thinking stripes! > Emma W.

2. Herdy Sheep Banks – Who needs a Piggy Bank when you can have a Sheepy Bank? More adorableness from the Herdy folks. I think I actually let out an audible “squee” when I saw these the first time! > Kathy E.

3. I-91 Shop Hop 2011 – What a weekend! We all had such a great time Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We were so thrilled at the amount of participants that decided to hop along the I-91 corridor. The energy the staff had, and the energy the customers had was incredible. We had fiber enthusiasts from all over joining the party and sharing the fun experiences they had in all of the other shops they visited. We even had people do the hop all in one day!  They must have slept well that night! Customers Nancy and Cathy bravely let me snap their picture after all their fun shopping, and to top off their visit when they walked in the store, Melissa LaBarre who happens to work at WEBS noticed that Nancy was wearing one of her designs. Of course Nancy had to have Melissa sign her book New England Knits! We consider the first shop hop a huge success and are so thrilled you all had a great time! > Karen M.

4. This week we held a celebration for the graduates of our Expert Knitter Certification Program. Each garment exhibited was unique and so well crafted! It was wonderful to hear each graduate talk about their design journey. > Tina M.

5. I love my Della Q Lily Crochet Roll. The hooks kept falling out of my old case (different company) but the Della Q roll holds them in nice and securely and doesn’t take up a ton of space. It can hold way more hooks than I could hope to own. I often just keep it in my project bag in case I finish something and want to whip up a small crochet project. > Kirstin L.

Hi Everyone

Tomorrow is the start of the I-91 Shop Hop which runs through Sunday, June 26th!  This event has been months in the planning and the last weekend in June has seemed so far away but it’s finally here!  This is the first Shop Hop and we’re anxious with anticipation!

Here are the details you need to know:

1.  There are 11 shops participating in the Hop.  The 12th store, Knit or Dye in Brattleboro, VT had to bow out due to the arrival of a new, wee knitter.  A list of the shops can be found on our Ravlery page or Facebook page.

2.  To participate, you need to purchase a Passport for $5.00 at any of the shops.  On the back each shop has a place to “stamp” your passport to prove you’ve been there.

3.  If you get to all 11 shops, the final shop will take your back panel and enter you into our Grand Prize Drawing!  The Grand Prize includes a ton of yarn, books, patterns, etc from our faboo suppliers but it also includes a $100 gift certificate FROM EACH SHOP!  That is $1100 in total and that’s a lot of yarn, books & tools!!

4.  Each shop will be having a daily drawing as well for some great gift baskets full of yarn, books, tools, etc.

5.  Some shops are doing demos, some will provide snacks and other fun things.  All shops will have goodie bags to give out.

It should be a super fun weekend and we hope to see many of you hopping into WEBS!
