Is it bad luck to be first? I need this book because every baby blanket that I make has a boring edge. I’d like to knit something that doesn’t look so rustic and I think some of these edgings will make even a simple knit look spectacular. Thanks!

I have been crocheting for a long time, since 1985 at least, and have worked primarily with worsted weight yarns making afghans. Recently I’ve become interested in making garments with lighter-weight yarns, and I really like the designs of Kristin Omdahl. I find them to be very flattering. This prize would enable me to increase my skills in garment-making.

I’ve been meaning to learn how to crochet for a very long time…I’m a pretty darn accomplished knitter but have never learned past the simple chain or poorly crocheted single crochet edge. And besides, shortly I will have a plethora of grandbaby clothes to knit!!
