Hi Everyone,

With the fall catalog (available online now, and should be in your mailbox soon, if it hasn’t arrived already), we have brought back the Valley Yarns Show and Tell. The first project we’re showing off is 418 Jade One Piece Pullover.

Knit in the beautiful Valley Yarns Charlemont, this pullover is a lovely layer. It is worked in one piece with a drapey kimono sleeves and lace cuffs.

We tried on the size 36″

Kirsten
Height: 5’3″
Bust: 37″
Waist: 30″
Hips: 42″

“This can be a tough shape to wear. I recommend wearing it loose and bloused, with the hem hitting mid-hip, instead of tugging it down past your hips. And leggings or a smooth skirt or shorts would look better than jeans.”

Dena
Height: 5’4¾”
Bust: 35½”
Waist: 29½”
Hips: 40″

“I love the way Charlemont feels against my skin. And the Deep Sea color is one of my favorites. But the sweater is way too long for me. And it’s too big on top and too tight on the bottom. If I was going to make this sweater for myself, I would make is sweater length rather than tunic length.”

Liz
Height: 5’7 ½”
Bust: 36¾”
Waist: 34¾”
Hips: 38½”

“I clearly need a bigger size. And I would wear it with leggings and a loose belt, rather than the unflattering jeans I have on now. I love that this tunic feels so lightweight and comfortable.”

Mary
Height: 5’4″
Bust: 39½
Waist: 32″
Hips: 43″

“I’m not sure this tunic really goes well with the skirt I had on this day, but I do like the way it looks. It’s a super comfortable sweater and Charlemont is a beautiful yarn. I don’t know that I would ever knit it for myself, but there’s something about it that appeals to me.”

Next week, we’ll have another Show and Tell from the fall collection!

This is really great. I love seeing a pattern that at first glance I wouldn’t have considered making on actual real people. (As opposed to models. Sure they’re real people, but you know what I mean.) It makes me want to knit that!

(Also, Knit Purl Girl referred me here. I’ve followed you on fb and twitter for a long time, but hadn’t thought of subscribing to this awesome blog until now!)

I’m a sucker for that color but this looks like it’d be easy to wear. I love the show & tells, I’m glad they’re back.

    p.s. KnitPurlGurl sent me. 🙂
