Valley Yarns Show & Tell: Old Sheldon House Capelet
This week’s Show & Tell is a little different. We’re showing off #364 Old Sheldon House Capelet. Crocheted in Valley Yarns Berkshire Bulky, this layer is a great way to keep warm, but it’s not too heavy.
A few people wore it as you normally wear a capelet, and then we had a little fun with it!
We tried on the 32″-40″ capelet.
First up, we have Dena:
Height: 5’4¾”
Bust: 35½”
Waist: 29½”
Hips: 40″
Dena said: “I’ve never put on a poncho or capelet before, and wasn’t even quite sure where my arms go. But once I got it on, I kind of liked it. I’d imagine this would be a super fast project. ”
Tina –
Height: 5’2″
Bust: 40″
Waist: 33½”
Hips: 43″
Tina said: “The yarn and stitch pattern makes this warm and cozy without being heavy at all. I think this would be adorable with a bright color shirt in spring or fall – just enough to keep you warm on a cloudy day. I think this size worked fine for me. I wouldn’t want it to be any more roomy this.”
Erin –
Height: 5’8″
Bust: 35″
Waist: 27″
Hips: 36½”
Erin said: “This would be a great summer-evening or air-conditioning layering piece. I think if I were to make it, I’d start with a slightly smaller neckline; it felt like it might fall off.”
And now a little fun from Kirsten:
“It’s not too big to wear as a cowl, it’s “dramatic!”
And Dena tried it on as a skirt. We thought it looked kinda cute, but she wasn’t so sure!
(Note: The picture is a little blurry because she was trying to get it off, but it’s a fun way to wear it too!)
What do you think of the different ways to wear the Old Sheldon Capelet? Any other ways you can think of?
Happy Crocheting!
